Hi, I'm Agnieszka — And This Is My Story
If we're just meeting for the first time, hi! I'm so glad you're here. I'm Agnieszka, some people call me Agnes, the photographer and creator behind Stories by AW. And before we dive into all things photography, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself properly—because I think the story behind the person behind the camera matters just as much as the work itself.
It All Started With a Love for Art
I've been in the creative industry since 2008—although honestly, creativity has been part of my DNA for as long as I can remember. I graduated with a degree in art and immediately knew I wanted to build something of my own. So I did.
I opened my wedding photography business and spent over eight years photographing some of the most beautiful, emotional, and unforgettable days of people's lives.
But weddings weren't just about showing up with a camera. I designed custom albums for my clients, worked with wedding photography brands on styled shoots, and created content for their websites and social media. My work was featured in bridal magazines, and every time I saw one of my images published, I fell a little more in love with the power of storytelling through photography.
Then Life Had Other Plans—The Best Kind
My husband and I decided to start our family, and when our daughter was born, everything shifted.
I transitioned into lifestyle and newborn photography, capturing pregnancies, newborn sessions, family milestones, and holiday portraits. There is something incredibly special about photographing a family during those early moments, and I felt so honored every time a client trusted me with their story.
Eventually, I made the decision to step back from photography for a few years and take a motherhood break.
And honestly? I have zero regrets.
My daughter needed me, and I needed her.
But here's the thing about creative people—we can never fully stop creating.
The Quiet Years That Weren't So Quiet
During my time away from client work, I kept busy in the most wonderful ways.
I did freelance editing for other photographers, keeping my eye sharp and my love for imagery alive. I published my own children's book—something I had dreamed about for years. And I built out my Etsy shop, designing nature photography prints, children's books, and journals that brought a little bit of the outdoors into people's homes.
My family and I traveled and explored together as much as we could. I always had my camera with me.
I photographed our trips, the places we discovered, my family, and all the little moments along the way. I found myself especially drawn to the outdoors—the light, the landscapes, the movement, and the feeling of being somewhere beautiful together.
Somewhere along those trails, it became clear to me what I wanted the next chapter of my photography life to look like.
And Now—Here We Are
With over 10 years of creative experience behind me, I feel more ready than ever to return to photography—and more inspired than ever before.
Combining my love for nature and photography, I want to create story-driven portraits that feel connected to the world around you—the wind in your hair, the movement of water, the light filtering through the trees, and the quiet confidence of stepping into a new chapter.
I don't want nature to simply be a beautiful background. I want it to be part of the photograph—and part of what you remember.
Because all of those years—the weddings, the newborns, the editing, the designing, motherhood, the trails, and the adventures—they all led me right here.
And I'm pretty excited about what comes next.
